Week 1 Drafting

The Invasion

    My name is George and I'm 11 years old. On the 6th June 2020 my life changed forever. It was a cloudy, misty day and my best friend Zac and I were kicking a ball around on the beach.  And suddenly, we heard a hovering sound, and looked up in amazement. We saw the most unbelievable spacecraft ever. Zac and I quickly raced as fast as we could into our secert treehouse hideaway in the sand dunes, watching as about 20 mysterious aliens disembarked from the spacecraft. Their heads were as big as pumpkins, they were speaking a funny language and their eyes were bulging out. They were carrying big, weird boxes with unusual writing on them that I had never seen before. 

   The aliens needed a place to stay so they invaded my beach house probably because it was the biggest and best house on the coast, but it didn't look like my were just going to invade my beach house. In the sky there were millions of spacecrafts looking to invade any of the best houses there were. All the alien spacecrafts were hovering down to all the houses on the coast. Zac and I shivered together in fear and we were just hoping they wouldn't see, hear or find us.

   The aliens didn't care who was in the house, they just wanted a place to stay and store their boxes. Zac and I were watching all of this from my secert treehouse, and they opened a box up and there were these weird weapons, well thats what I thought they were, but Zac thought they were a odd type of bazooka that aliens wound use. They a couple of the aliens took the weapon in and aimed it when they were going in and we were shocked when we saw the aliens threaten my parents with strange looking weapons. I almost felt like running out and punching them all in the face and suddenly a couple of the aliens took my parents aboard their spacecraft with thier high tech weapons, while the rest of the aliens stayed behind and loaded more boxes into my beach house. Why my beach house?

Alpha Centurian Colonisation

1)My story will take the point of view of George, an 11 year old boy.

The aliens are invading Earth while George and Zac are passing a rugby ball around on the beach, they then go into their secert treehouse hideaway. They see a small spacecraft land on the beach and 20 aliens disembark. They carry big boxes from the ship and take over George's beach house.  George and Zac stay hidden.   Setting (where?)  It takes place on a Wellington beach.  Setting (when?) The year is 2020 and the date is June 6th.

Complication (What goes wrong? / What drives the story?) The aliens take George's parents as slaves. George and Zac must think of a way to help them escape.

Series of events    Aliens invade George's beach house. George's parents get taken as slaves.   George and Zac think of a plan to save George's parents.

Resolution (How does the story end?) George and Zac escape with George's parents and head secretly to Wellington to find Zac's family, hoping that it will be safe there. George Power 1000

Finishing My Inquiry

Hi,

Finally I have finished my inquiry. I have completed both the solar car model and I have painted a box to put my research on. I took me all the holidays to do my project (two weeks). It was good that I finished it in the holidays so that I didn't have that much homework in the first week of school. It is already at school waiting to be handed in on Friday this week (I took it to school on Monday this week). 

My solar car model that I made in the holidays can really work, believe it or not. All you need to add is the sun light. It isn't the heat that makes the solar car run it's the amount of light that gives it the energy. After I had m ade my solar car I did an experiment to see which weather it is best  for it to go in: Results: Sunny day: Solar car drove smoothly; Cloudy day: Solar car didn't move at all; In the shade: Once again solar car didn't move. There are also times in the day called ''Prime Times'', which is during, 11am to 3pm. All the other times in the day isn't bright enough for solar cars, but they would be if people in the future can make a new solar car that can store energy from the sun. If they could, on rainy days you can just use the energy to run the solar car from the day before.

Once Again, A Lot Of Work
